Knight Optical’s Sapphire Windows offer exceptional durability and optical performance, with a transmission range from UV to 5µm. As one of the hardest optical materials available, second to diamond, sapphire is ideal for harsh environments, offering resistance to extreme temperatures, chemical corrosion, and high radiation.
Knight Optical provides c-cut and random-cut sapphire windows. Sapphire is naturally birefringent, meaning it has two different refractive indices, and so for critical optical applications and imaging systems c-cut sapphire is preferred to minimize optical distortion, while random-cut sapphire—grown more easily at a 60° off-axis angle—is suitable for less sensitive applications.
Custom sapphire windows are available, including fluorescence free sapphire, enquire with our technical sales team.
