Knight Optical was approached to provide their optical knowledge to develop a product that would allow a sensor to measure the heat of their tyres.

THE SOLUTION

Using its expertise, Knight Optical recommended using a germanium window with precise coating requirements. Using a state of the art metrology laboratory, the ability to ensure each window performed as necessary within the required spectrum was critical for the client. This and the knowledge that the robust coating could meet the durability requirements of MIL-PRF-13830B means this innovative technology can be installed with peace of mind.

THE RESULT

Knight Optical were able to offer fast delivery of stock windows for prototype testing to optimising specific coating requirements. Enabling them to monitor the performance and safety of their equipment in real time; our germanium windows are now being used for a performance leading team within a demanding sport.
